Terms of Service

Effective date: August 1, 2026

Threshold Prep · thethresholdprep@gmail.com

These terms explain the deal between you and Threshold Prep — what the service is, how subscriptions and refunds work, and what we each agree to. We've written them plainly so you can actually read them.

1. Acceptance of Terms

  • By creating an account and purchasing a subscription, you agree to these terms.
  • If you are under 18, you confirm that you have permission from a parent or guardian to enter into this agreement.

2. The Service

  • Threshold Prep is an AI-assisted college application guidance platform.
  • It is not a licensed educational institution or an accredited counseling service.
  • AI guidance is for informational and organizational purposes only — the final decisions are always yours.
  • We do not guarantee admission to any college or university.

3. Subscriptions and Payment

  • All plans are one-time payments that grant 1 year of access from the purchase date.
  • Essentials — $99.99: College List Builder + Essay Workshop.
  • Complete — $149.99: all modules + AI Counselor Chat (50 sessions per month).
  • Premium — $199.99: all modules + unlimited AI sessions + priority responses + Custom Timeline.
  • Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
  • All prices are in U.S. dollars (USD).

4. Refund Policy

  • All sales are final, with one exception below.
  • Refund requests submitted within 7 days of purchase, where you've accessed no more than one module, will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
  • To request a refund, email thethresholdprep@gmail.com with your account email and the reason for your request.
  • We reserve the right to approve or deny refund requests at our sole discretion.

5. Acceptable Use

  • You may not share your account with others.
  • You may not use Threshold Prep to submit work that misrepresents your own voice or ideas.
  • You may not attempt to reverse engineer, scrape, or reproduce the platform.
  • You may not use the AI Counselor to generate essay content — it is a strategic advisor only.
  • Violating these terms may result in account termination without a refund.

6. Honesty and Academic Integrity

  • Threshold Prep is built on a simple principle: your application should represent you authentically.
  • The platform provides structural feedback and strategic guidance only — it never writes, rewrites, or suggests phrasing for your essays or activities.
  • By using the Essay Workshop, you agree to the honesty pledge presented within that module.
  • We encourage you to review the academic integrity policies of the schools you apply to.

7. Intellectual Property

  • All platform content, design, and code is owned by Threshold Prep.
  • Student-generated content (essays, activities, college lists) remains your own property.
  • We do not claim ownership over anything you write.

8. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

  • Threshold Prep is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind.
  • We are not liable for college admission outcomes.
  • We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform.
  • Our total liability to any user will not exceed the amount that user paid for their subscription.

9. Termination

  • We reserve the right to terminate accounts that violate these terms.
  • You may stop using the service at any time, but you are not entitled to a refund outside the 7-day window described above.

10. Governing Law

  • These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey.
  • Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Morris County, New Jersey.
